Help Aboriginal HIPPY Canada grow Across Canada

We are excited to announce our campaign to raise money and awareness of our Aboriginal HIPPY Canada (AHC) Program.

HIPPY Canada has been running AHC since 2002, empowering almost 1000 parents and children with a culturally relevant curriculum to maximize the education and holistic potential of aboriginal children.

Aboriginal HIPPY is unique because it starts with mothers first, supporting Aboriginal mothers in becoming their child’s first and most important teacher, thereby building a strong educational foundation.

Since the introduction of the Aboriginal HIPPY Canada program in 2002, Aboriginal communities across Canada have recognized the value and success of the program. The Aboriginal HIPPY Canada program has been empowering families, caregivers and parents with a culturally relevant curriculum to maximize the education and holistic potential of aboriginal children.

Aboriginal HIPPY Canada brings this program into Indigenous nations and communities across Canada to bring culturally relevant teaching and learning to Aboriginal children and their families.

The history of colonialism, oppression and the residential school system has had a systemic impact on Aboriginal families and communities in Canada. As a result, educational institutions and curriculum have been cautiously received by Aboriginal families. However, Aboriginal HIPPY Canada has been realizing success in Aboriginal communities and has allowed for Aboriginal families to re-establish and embrace their role as parents and their traditional role as teachers of their own children. It is community-driven and community-based which creates a sense of pride and ownership in the success of the program.
